Neglecting? Maybe just a little…

Hey Pace Yourself followers, I am sorry that I have been neglecting this site for so long. I realize that as a site owner I should pay more attention to my sites.
The truth is I just haven’t had much time to post updates and such on this site. I am definitely not closing, but I am just going on an indefinite hiatus.
The reason for this hiatus is the number of fansites that I have been working on. I have an up and running Dev Patel fansite, and I am working on a Justin Bartha fansite. Another fansite for Mark Pellegrino (Jacob from LOST) might be in the making.
On the brightside, I am also still improving the flash version of Pace Yourself, all that needs to be added are affies, graphics, interviews and some more pictures for the gallery.
Thank you for not giving up on this site, and I promise I haven’t either.

Last night was a mixture of laughter, tears, and just plain shock. And one of the main reasons for the tears was the flashsideways that was orchestrated beautifully. Dominic was at his finest, as was Emilie deRavin. Their “rememberance” left me in tears, it was just so beautiful. And in the end, Charlie and Claire were reunited with Aaron. The poetry was just perfect.
LOST has been such a moving show, with ups, downs and all the places in between. I know I will miss it. Already I feel like there’s a void in my life. I’m not sure if it will be filled, but I do know that when I buy all of the seasons, I will watch them over and over, and never get tired of them.
Thank you Damon and Carlton, for giving us such a beautiful show to take with us through our lives.

Apologizing/New look?

Hey Dominic fans. I would like to take advantage of some very limited free time and post a little.

Alright. First off, I would like to apologize for disappearing off the face of the internet. Things have been major hectic lately, and in my free time I’ve been working on a new version of The Flame Station, a LOST fansite currently in the works. I promise that as soon as I see things with Dominic Monaghan, I will post them here. Ok, so maybe not as soon as I see them… but I will post them nonetheless.

Also, I’m contemplating moving Pace Yourself back to my webs domain. It will be bigger, better, and more polished. Of course, I will still keep my wordpress site, but will mainly use it for posting, nothing like graphics and such.

I will let you all know when The Flame Station is up and running. Hopefully you’ll all like it!

Finally

This post is a little late, but finally! Last week’s episode “Happily Ever After” had quite a lineup of characters. A long awaited Desmond return, as well as Charlie, and an unexpected Daniel pop-up! But I would like to focus on Charlie.
Ever since that rumor about Dominic Monaghan signing on for at least 3 episodes in this last season, we’ve been waiting anxiously. We got a little bit of him in the season premiere, but after weeks of waiting for more, we (or at least I) started to lose hope. But then it happened…the episode we’d all been waiting for.
I think the writers brought Charlie back in an amazing way. The way they incorporated Desmond babysitting him was a definite reference to season 3 events. And the scene with Charlie holding his hand up to the window of the car gave me chills. We also got a tiny dose of Charlie/Claire romance, even if we only heard about Charlie’s “Flashbacks/forwards/sideways” (gaah, this is so confusing.)
I hope they find a way to bring Charlie back for at least 1 more episode, even if it’s in the finale.
This episode was definitely my favorite of this season…maybe even of the whole show. What are your thoughts??

So was hunting around on the internet today, and I came across a new interview with Dominic! I haven’t seen a new one in a while, so I’ve copied it for you. There are some good tidbits and insights about Dom’s acting life. Enjoy!

Q: Do you pay attention to what the fans say about you?

DM: Some stuff. I’ve been [to some sites] a couple of times and read a couple of things, what people think about the character and the show. I don’t tend to dive into too much, I don’t want to get too dangerous.

But I’m online, and I search around, and I go to forums.

Q: Do you ever see conspiracies on the online boards and think, “Oh, wow, you’re so wrong.”

DM: Or “you’re so right”! I saw a lot of stuff with Lost, and I saw a lot with Flash Forward where I think, “Wow, these guys are on it. These guys know what’s going on! These guys sound like they’re in the writers’ room, because they’re predicting things that are actually happening.”

Q: Between Lord of the Rings, Lost, and now Flash Forward, you seem to be doing a lot of fantasy and science fiction. Is that something you personally enjoy, or is that just a coincidence?

DM: I don’t necessarily know if it’s purely coincidental. I became an actor because of Star Wars. I watched Han Solo when I was seven or eight, and I thought, “That’s what I want to do.”

I have a large collection of fantasy in my film library, from Dark Star to Dark Crystal to Star Wars to Star Trek to 2001. Lots of sci-fi.

But I probably have more comedy, [more] America gangster movies than anything else.

It’s just good projects more than anything else. If you look at those three things, I don’t necessarily see the link being fan-based, ComicCon wet dreams. It’s more that they’re good projects. Lord of the Rings was a great script, Lost was a great project, Flash Forward was a great project.

I go where there’s good writing and a great chance to do something new.

Q: You mentioned Star Wars, which reminds me of Mark Hamill and the problems he had breaking away from the role that made him so famous. You made such an indelible impression in Lord of the Rings. Were you ever worried about being typecast?

DM: Yeah, and I had a year or so where I wasn’t working and felt as if I in danger of being locked into those movies and never get out of them again. I got very lucky with Lost. That was a very adorable character to play, and I think the audience very quickly leapfrogged with me from the character I played in Lord of the Rings to Charlie.

You’ve got work out your challenges in your job and set your mind on that goal. I know I can act, I know that I’m capable of acting, so really that as a challenge isn’t as complicated for me as navigating my way through the pigeonholes that people want to put me in.

I stopped worrying [too much] about learning my lines or being present on the set or giving a good performance, and I started concentrating my thoughts on how do I navigate my way through this business when I don’t look necessarily look like Paul Newman and I’m not built like Hugh Jackman. How do I do that?

Q: Was there anything you turned down?

A: Sure! I turned down a lot of pixie-like, elf-like [characters], guys who live under toadstools and bridges. And I turned down a lot of adorable best-friends-to-the-lead-guy, who’s just kind of a nice guy. I was like, “I don’t wanna do that.” I still hold back. When I was younger, roles I played were much more comedic-based. I love comedy, and that’s something I ultimately I want to do. But I said to my agent going into my career in America, “I don’t want to do comedy until I’ve proven that I can do drama to a large audience.” Because then when I do comedy, they’ll say, “Oh, yeah, but he is a dramatic actor.” If you just do comedy, then you’re going to have a very hard time breaking into drama.

Disappointed?

As the new season of Lost races on, we’ve gotten plenty of screen time from Kate, Flocke, Sawyer, Jack and even Claire, but a disappointing amount of Charlie. I’m wondering if that was our 1 episode tease of Dominic before FlashForward starts up again. I sincerely hope that Charlie isn’t staying in jail during the rest of the season. What are you thoughts?

As we all know (At least in the US and Europe) the Season 6 Premiere of LOST was last night! And, if you watched it, then you know that Dominic Monaghan joined the cast for a few brief scenes. (Sorry if you hadn’t seen the episode yet. It’s on Hulu now, check it out!) Tell me what you thought of LA X!
