This post is a little late, but finally! Last week’s episode “Happily Ever After” had quite a lineup of characters. A long awaited Desmond return, as well as Charlie, and an unexpected Daniel pop-up! But I would like to focus on Charlie.
Ever since that rumor about Dominic Monaghan signing on for at least 3 episodes in this last season, we’ve been waiting anxiously. We got a little bit of him in the season premiere, but after weeks of waiting for more, we (or at least I) started to lose hope. But then it happened…the episode we’d all been waiting for.
I think the writers brought Charlie back in an amazing way. The way they incorporated Desmond babysitting him was a definite reference to season 3 events. And the scene with Charlie holding his hand up to the window of the car gave me chills. We also got a tiny dose of Charlie/Claire romance, even if we only heard about Charlie’s “Flashbacks/forwards/sideways” (gaah, this is so confusing.)
I hope they find a way to bring Charlie back for at least 1 more episode, even if it’s in the finale.
This episode was definitely my favorite of this season…maybe even of the whole show. What are your thoughts??
